Hello! I'm Jin Ting (Jene), a design research practitioner specialising in user research, information design and visualisation.

With over 4+ years of experience in applied research, I have managed end-to-end, mixed methods research for diverse communities spanning across general population, arts practitioners, at-risk youths, caregivers and persons with disabilities.

I'm passionate about leveraging applied research to inform product design and innovation, and hope to bridge organisational gaps between product design, data and user understanding.

Outside of work, you'll find me sipping matcha latte, baking, hiking, and dabbling in videography.

Expertise

Research Implementation & Synthesis
I conduct generative and evaluative research activities including in-depth interviews, focus groups, workshops, field studies, concept testing, usability testing, and surveys. This includes analysing qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate tools and statistical techniques to understand user motivations, behaviours and needs.

Research Strategy & Management

My experience in leading end-to-end generative and evaluative user research (from strategy formulation to fieldwork management to data analysis) helps me understand the complexity of ResearchOps and translating research findings into data-driven recommendations for organisations.

Data Storytelling & Visualisation

Good data visualisation helps readers better understand data, regardless of their level of expertise. I develop interactive dashboards, information graphics and visual charts to communicate complex data in a clear and engaging manner.

Design & Prototyping

I design information graphics in a wide variety of visual formats (infographics, guides, toolkits, reports, videographics) to visually communicate information for stakeholder engagement and content marketing. I also craft mockups and prototypes for interactive web and mobile experiences.
